Governance

The Wren Insurance Association Limited is a non-profit making mutual insurance association registered in England and Wales (Company No. 2054592) and incorporated as a company limited by guarantee.  It is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (“PRA”) and is regulated by the PRA and the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”), reference number 202701.  You can check this on the Financial Services Register or by telephoning 0845 606 1234.

Wren is a soundly financed insurance company and buys reinsurance cover from Lloyd’s and company markets with all reinsurers rated a minimum of “A-” or equivalent.  The underwriting strategy of Wren is to underwrite on a conservative basis, and to maintain a prudent level of reserves, in excess of regulatory requirements.

The Board of Directors of Wren is its main decision-making body and comprises twelve non-executive directors elected from its architect Members, two executive directors appointed from Wren Managers and one independent Chairman.  Each Member firm is entitled and encouraged to nominate one of its directors to be its Representative on Wren’s other body, the Committee.  The Committee meets at least twice a year when it receives reports on major decisions made by the Board and is given the opportunity to express its view.
